Contact the DOE in writting and explain your predicament. I have no idea what area of energy studies your degree is in but they are bound to have something else to offer. If it requires another university, then relocate. Try not to interrupt or delay your Phd program if possible. You have had a tough break but you are a valueable asset as a graduate student and shouldn't forget that. There is a school that will accommodate you and will feel lucky to have you. Do it ASAP.

It may seem weird, but it's accurate. People should not ask personal or prying questions, so a polite rebuff is not out of line. As one in a similar situation, I say, "I'm estranged from my sisters these days." I'm sure it makes them curious, but there's something about the word "estranged" that makes people think it's something serious and they don't press the issue. They pretty much say "that's too bad." Most of the time I let it go, and depending on the mood I might laugh and say, "Not always!" Haha. I'm about to be a senior in college, I don't know what to do with my life and I'm very unhappy. What can I do?

It's taken me three years in college to figure out what my major is going to be. I have changed it 7 times, and now I'm doing a self design major in religion and culture. But I don't know what I'm going to do with this, and in addition, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. I really don't have any dreams or ambitions. On top of all that, I really hate my school -- but I can't afford to take a leave of absence or defer because it would end up costing me money and delay my graduation. I feel really screwed up and depressed because it's been one horrible year after another, and I feel like I've had no guidance from my advisors (because I haven't -- they've either been 20 minutes late or they've forgotten). I feel like I'm stuck at a dead end. My senior year is going to be the most difficult because I was required to create a plan for my senior year that is focused on me continuing on to grad school, etc., etc. The advisor I'm planned to have for next year is ridiculously tough (it seems) and REALLY won't like my decision to pursue something different than was arranged because it will 'reflect negatively on her credibility.' What can I do when I don't know what I'm interested in pursuing, when I don't know what I'm going to do with my life, when I cannot defer or take a year off or transfer, when it's technically my last year of college, and when I'm thoroughly unhappy and extremely depressed? I am deconverting and I was wondering what helped you? I get depressed sometimes because I wonder if i'm missing some key part of christianity that will make me believe again. I was taken into custody by the school police for possession of a marijuana pipe (I'm 14) on my school bus. I got a citation because it was given to me to hide by a fellow student, got stuck with a class C misdemeanor, and now I'm on deffered adjudication. I took my drug class early on and I'm going back to court on the 25th. Will i be drug tested? I consolidated my loans with AES (they were originally Great Lakes and other companies). I ended up with 2 loans, each with a 10 year repayment term. Basically, all of the subsidized loans get combined into one loan and all of the unsubsidized loans get combined into one loan. Consolidating should get your payments down, but you'll also have options if you still can't afford the payments. I've been unemployed since January 2010. My unemployment usually allows me to make payments, but I've deferred when I needed to and the process for doing so was really simple.

I received an email notification that I was granted tickets to events like the football gold medal game, rhythmic gymnastics individual gold medal round, the finals in numerous events of swimming, the finals in athletics (track and field), as well as the gold medal match in women's volleyball. Now, I realize I was extremely lucky in this process; however, I am at a bit of a crossroads. I can't afford to see all these events, the tickets are highly priced and to be honest its just more that I thought I would get. Unfortunately, I can only purchase the tickets all together, or defer the payment and lose them all. My question to you guys is how likely is it that I can sell the tickets that I don't want for face value (or can I get more for them)? Basically what will happen they will move your stuff to a military storage place in Germany for up to 6months plus while your husband is looking for housing there. Have the Army do it now, you shouldn't have to pack or move it. Take the Orders down to housing office and ask them what you will need to do this.. I believe you will need a special power of attorney.. I also believe they will ship your car for free on those orders, also ask them how you do this. Your husband should have been thoroughly briefed at his LEVY briefing and not sure why he isn't sharing the news.. Household goods should have been scheduled like way long ago as soon as he got his orders, not sure why you all are waiting til the last minute.. I think your best bet is to save money is to have the movers move your stuff before you go see your family.. and then fly out from where ever you are, just tell the reservations people on post where you will be and when.. Your husband can do it for you on his end.. Not sure again why you are being deferred. Does anyone know what this rash could be?

I have a rash on the right side of my neck. It is red, slightly raised (I can feel little bumps when I rub my fingers against my neck), and slightly itchy. It also comes and goes and is irritated by rubbing alcohol, products with alcohol in them, and sometimes even hot (not warm) water. I don't think it is hives since I do not have any of the other symptoms associated with hives and I do not believe it to be eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis since creams for those rashes do not help it at all. The rash can red, pink or very light red, or dark red (almost a brownish red color) at different times. Sometimes it is a combination of two of the three (ex. red near the front and dark red near the back). The rash doesn't crust or bleed, and is not puss filled. From what I can tell it is not scaly or silver-like, either. I have had this rash for about 4-5 years and nothing I have tried works to make it better or get rid of it. I have noticed that is sort of a small round shape in some places and has what looks to me like a brown freckle in the middle or in some places a medium-sized red slanted band in the middle. It appears to be blotchy and could be lattice-shaped, but it is hard to tell since the rash is clustered together. Any ideas on what this rash could be would be greatly appreciated.

Why would my parents lie to me?

I just bring it all to the boil, then lower the heat to medium high for about 20 minutes, then I lower to simmer. The meat will fall of the chicken, but before you turn everything off and plate, taste it for seasoning. If by chance you have a chicken or vegetable stock cube laying around add that also.

I was charged with a felony 6 years ago and the charges were all dismissed, does that mean I was convicted?

Okay, I'm confused because I'm applying for jobs now and on the application it asks if I have ever been convicted of a felony. When I went to court for this charge the judge told me that it would never show on my record because it was dismissed. Last year I had a hard time getting a fingerprint clearance card b/c of the charges but as soon as I showed them the paperwork that it was dismissed they cleared me no questions asked. On this job I'm applying for asks if I have ever been convicted & the disposition. On my paperwork it says disposition "dismissed". I am not sure because it was a deferred judgement so would that mean I was convicted? It was a long time ago when I was young and stupid and I'm embarrased by it. I don't want to put it on my application but if I have to I will.

Childhood movies help on remembering !?

this has been bothering me for quite sometime. but i was remembering this movie that i use to watch all the time and i loved it as a kid. only i cant remember the name of the movie, and i only remember a few parts of the movie. i LOVE movies and if i cant get the name of this movie .. i'll be upset lol. so i was wondering if anybody else knew what i was talking about. i'll describe the parts that i remembered. im not quite sure if it was anime or not. but one part i remember was there was a parade going on in the morning. then the main character, i think a boy, and his pet squirrel (i think it was a squirrel) are in this house. but the house has no floor like if it was a never ending drop. the boy is walking on the sides of the house where he wont fall, but ends up slipping. and his squirrel jumps after him and flies. another part i remember was a party going on in this magical world and the boy goes in this one room where hes not aloud to go in i think. he went in because his new friend he met in this magical world convinced him to. there is this huge door that no one is ever suppose to open because i think some sort of evil is trapped behind there. they open it and this black kinda of smokey blob takes over the kingdom/town. another part i remember was the boy is dreaming i think. hes sleeping in his bed and wakes to find some kind of magical wand or staff in his bed. the house is beginning to flood and the bed is used as some kind of boat, and there is a door at the end of the hall that is like lit behind it. the light is like a gold yellow, i think the boy is trying to get away from him because i remember him trying to get away from it. i also remember the boys new friend being in some sort of a ball shaped thing which people are going to set it off like a fire work. and i also remember the end of the movie the boy goes back to his home town parade . those are the only parts of the movie that i can clearly see in my head. if any of you know please please PLEASE tell me thanks <3

The interest accures on a daily basis. It comes to 2.79 a month per 500.00 loan. You do not have to pay it back until it goes into repayment, that is you quit, graduate or fall below half time. What you want to do is pay back the interest before the loan goes into repayment. The reason is because if you do not then they will add the interest to the amount of your orginal loan for a new higher balance then you will be paying the interest on a higher loan causing you to pay more (this is called capitalization). I called them and they advised me just to pay it by year. My daughter has a 5500 loan we took out for fall last year and the interest is 80 bucks right now as of today, if that gives you an idea.

I recently spoke to the courts and I can do a "deferred disposition" (without going to court) under which if I comply to all the rules in the 6 month probationary period my PI charge will not result in a conviction. After that, in the state of TX I am entitled to an expunction of the charge. Should I try this route or will it still carry all the negative consequences of a conviction. Way back in the 1980's I was a photo enthusiast. I had a few SV "ultra cool" tungsten flood lights. "Ultra Cool" must have been some sort of sick joke. You could burn yourself if you touched them. If the subject was 10' away and you used an umbrella, they still sweat up a storm. I have not used them in 20 years. I think I might use them again. What is a good alternative to lattice?

There isn't a lot that would be cheaper. The only thing I can think of is maybe bamboo blinds, but they won't look any better and they won't last more than a season or two before they look like crap or fall apart. Pay off items on credit or not?

I have 22 negative things on my credit (total shock to myself) so I am currently in the process of disputing some items and having others removed (mostly medical bills and student loans that should have been deferred.) I was told by a lender not to pay off any debt that has gone to collections as this will look bad on your credit and doesn't remove it from your credit. He said things that are over 5 years old really aren't looked at by creditors any how. Well, some of my medical bills are 6 years old, but have a date of March 2011 ( I think it changed in March, because they have been on there for years) and they are scheduled to drop of in January 2012. Also, There are some items on there that are about to hit the 5 year mark. And then there are 3 things on there that are newer (Shapes, they screwed me over). Well, that happened and they said they do not have that ability and wanted to charge me the entire extent of my contract. I advised if I could afford to pay the entire extent of my contract I would continue to do so and use my membership, so they sent it to collections...I don't know if I should attempt to make payments on this now that I am in a better situation or not. The Jeep looks beautiful. I ran a car fax on it and it has 6 previous owners. I love the look of the car it has lots of upgrades. Well,you can try lattice work,but I had it around my fence and my Dachshund/cocker spaniel would chew right through it! I doubt that your dogs would,but you never know. Heavy hardware cloth would probably be the best material to use. You could also post signs saying that the yard is monitored by a security camera,even if it isn't. My son attended glencorse on wed 18th May but was deferred for 3 years because of eczema-Can I explain. In March he had a small rash in the creases of his arms. Weight lifting question?

I take animal pack vitamins in the morning right when i wake, then drink my pre lift N.O. (white flood). While lifting i drink Size On and then whey protein directly towards end of lift. Can my landlord legally raise rent after a flood?

I was wondering if my landlord can raise my rent after we had a major flood (Minot, ND). I'm still paying for rent in a place that I'm not living in -which I'm okay with, because housing in Minot is hard to find. Right now the economy in North Dakota is booming. We have a big oil boom going on and people cannot find housing so they are charging outrageous prices for places to rent (ex: 1bd apt for $2,500). Right now we pay $850 and we live in the 'bad' part of the neighborhood/city (which really isn't bad). Is there a law against price gouging for rent after a flood, because so many people are already looking for housing (due to the oil boom) and now there will be more since their homes flooded.

Technical traffic ticket question(Washington state)?

okay, so in July 2010, I got a negligent driving ticket for speeding and I took it to court and it was eventually deferred in late August. The deferral means that I can't so much as get a traffic infraction within 12 months of the date of deferral (late august 2010). However, today (5/13/2011), yes thats friday the 13th, I got an infraction for going 60 in a 45. So basically in my view im totally screwed: $144 dollar ticket plus the deferred ticket comes back right? So were looking at a $700 ticket. Now my question is, if i mitigate this ticket and ask for the court date to be pushed back until september, will the deferral from august 2010 still be valid? Will the infraction be set by the court day that it is settled or the day the cop gave it to me? Also, is it possible to pay off a ticket with community service work?

You can certainly count your blessings she's come back into your life just when you needed her the most, almost as tho it was meant to be! I am one who happens to believe things do happen for reasons. We may not know why at the very moment, but in time we usually find out. This just so sounds like the case with you two. Always too been a believer that we get what we need when we need it the most. This also sounds as tho it also applies to you. You can have an attitude of gratitude you now have someone to share in your life at a time when you needed it the most! For the short length of time she's been back in your life, she's proved she's there for you when you need her. You also seem to get along quite well together & do enjoy one another's company. Hi There.I posted a note on here the other day about my son being deferred at glecorsre and that he was going to see his gp on monday..Well that happened and his doctor couldnt believe it as he said he has had no symptons at all of eczema and it was only very mild back then .He had been clear for five and a half years.He said he would have no problem in sending a letter.Does anybody think that this could be overturned or deferred for a lesser period of time which is currently 3 years.
